Britainy's Weekend Wrapup

CBC Arts Reporter and Yorkton's second favourite export (next to The Morning Edition's Coreen Larson) Britainy Robinson, lets you know what's going on this weekend.

Moose Jaw
- The Wakamow Jamboree takes place this weekend.  Country legend Charlie Major and Yorkton's Samara Yung and Regina's Jason Plumb will perform on Saturday.  The music starts at 2pm at Kiwanis River Park.

- The Folk Festival continues in the city, and this year the Global Village makes its debut. The communities that don't have the numbers or the resources to stage a full fledged pavillion have banded forces at the Sasktel Sports Centre. There you can see several cultures as part of the Global Village.

Big River
- The annual Northern Light's Bluegrass and Old Tyme Music Festival. The festival caps off a week of music workshops and lessons up in the bush. It's is held every year at the Ness Creek site near Big River.

- Symphony Under The Sky kicks off the Regina Symphony Orchestra's 104th season.  The music starts at 11am in Wascana Park on Sunday.
