Canada Day Weekend Plans
CBC Arts Reporter Britainy Robinson has your Canada Day weekend all planned out. Here's what's happening in Regina and Saskatoon.
Regina
- The Real Canadian Music Stage takes place at Victoria Park. Acts include Megan Nash, Indigo Joseph, Johnny Hatch and Los Bastardos. The music starts at 2:30.
- Regina's official Canada Day Party takes place on Sunday afternoon at Wascana Park. Most of the fun takes place in front of the Legislature. Lots of activities, live music from Streetheart, and some great fireworks can all be found at the Park. The fireworks kickoff at dusk.
Saskatoon
- Diefenbaker Park will be full of great music. Saskatoon country/rock band Wyatt will perform on Canada Day. As will The Johner Brothers. If the name sounds familiar, the band is made up of Brad Johner's 3 sons.
- The Saskatchewan Jazz Festival wraps up this weekend. The Roots will play the Bezz Gardens before a soldout crowd Sunday night. Jill Barber is at the Broadway Theatre Friday and Saturday night, and Ontario's Elliot Brood will share the stage with Jill Saturday night.
