Four-Wheeled Furies

They are women you see every day: the smiling barista who never forgets your order, the single mom who always brings cookies to play group, the Grade 5 teacher who conducts the school choir. But several times a week, the gloves come off, the skates go on, and their alter egos take over on the fiercely competitive roller derby track.

Four-Wheeled Furies follows the Rideau Valley Roller Girls (RVRG) and the fascinating world of roller derby. These Ottawa-area women aren't simply skating around in circles. They're aggressive--sometimes downright nasty--and focused on three things: winning, having fun, and giving back to the local community.
