Image of the Day: Controlling children's programming

Peggy Nairn sits in a control room at CBC's former Church Street studios.
Nairn joined CBC in 1952 as a script assistant and a year later became one of its first female television producers.
Nairn worked on several children's shows, including
Howdy Doody,
Hidden Pages and
Maggie Muggins. She was also the face behind the popular women's program,
Open House. When Nairn left CBC - she joined TVO as the first producer of
Polka Dot Door.
