With competition at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy, set to begin in mere hours, the world's finest athletes are preparing themselves for a gruelling ordeal that will test the limits of their physical, mental and emotional endurance. And that's just Friday's opening ceremony.
Organizers have been typically tight-lipped about what we'll see but, if the one-upmanship practiced by recent Olympic hosts is any indication, expect quite a spectacle.
