Homolka out of prison

Convicted killer Karla Homolka is now a free woman, marking the end of a 12-year sentence for her role in the deaths of Ontario teenagers Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy.
Homolka was whisked away undetected amid throngs of media surrounding Ste-Anne-des-Plaines prison north of Montreal. Her release was confirmed Monday afternoon by Corrections Canada officials and a lawyer representing the families of her victims.
