Halifax explosion site launches

It was originally conceived as a website to complement the CBC Television mini-series Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion. But the CBC.ca Halifax Explosion website evolves into a media rich, comprehensive resource on this milestone historical event.

�Visitors will find the CBC Halifax Explosion site to be the most comprehensive to date,� says project coordinator Jere Brooks. �Our local experts have helped guide the content, making it historically accurate and thorough.�

Site content includes a view of Halifax Harbour as it was in 1917, which can be manipulated 360 degrees and animated as the ships Mont-Blanc and Imo collide.
