Space shuttle breaks up, crew killed

CAPE CANAVERAL, FLA. - The space shuttle Columbia broke up over Texas Saturday morning and crashed to Earth, killing its seven-member crew.

"The Columbia is lost. There are no survivors," said U.S. President George Bush.

"In the skies today we saw destruction and tragedy, yet farther than we can see, there is comfort and hope."
