Romanow's diagnosis may cost $5 billion

OTTAWA - Roy Romanow's commission into the future of health care is expected to recommend the federal government pump more than $5 billion into Canada's health-care system.
Sources close to the commission told CBC Radio that Romanow's report, due on Thursday, will include recommendations for investment in new diagnostic equipment, such as MRIs and CAT scans.
