Pope arrives in Toronto

After a nine-hour flight from Rome, Pope John Paul II arrived at Toronto's Pearson International Airport at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The Pope is in Toronto for Catholic World Youth Day, an event that has drawn hundreds of thousands of pilgrims to the city.

Close to 500 pilgrims and official delegates cheered as the 82-year-old Pope waved from a mobile platform while he was wheeled inside an airport hangar.
