NEW YORK - A hospital worker who contracted inhaled anthrax has died. She is the fourth fatality of inhaled anthrax since the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.
Kathy T. Nguyen, 61, died Wednesday morning. She worked at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital on Manhattan's East Side.
And White House spokesman Ari Fleischer says a co-worker of Nguyen has a suspicious lesion and is being treated by doctors.
"Somebody is trying to kill the American people by sending anthrax through the mail," said Fleischer. There are now 17 confirmed cases of anthrax throughout the U.S.
