Tributes for Trudeau include rare UN honour

LONDON - As Canadians come to grips with the death of one of their most revered and reviled leaders, it became clear Friday that Pierre Trudeau had also made a lasting impression outside the country.

Condolences and tributes came from around the globe, even though it's been 16 years since Trudeau retired from public life.

In a rare gesture of respect, the United Nations observed one minute of silence.
