TORONTO - The TSE is on a wild roller coaster ride today. At one point the TSE 300 plunged more than 700 points. But then the markets began to recover somewhat as some investors looked for bargains.
The fall was led by tech stocks, as investors seemed to realize that the prospects for "new economy" stocks don't match their high prices.
Just after 2:30 p.m. ET the TSE 300 was down about 420 points, or about 4.5 per cent, to 8949. At 1:00 p.m. ET the TSE was down by a staggering 700 points.
