After months of anticipation, Conrad Black's National Post rolled off the presses Tuesday morning and filled gold newspaper boxes across the country. The newest national daily paper is seen as a direct challenge to The Globe and Mail.
The decision to launch a new national daily is considered a bold stroke by Black, whose career has been highlighted by gambles against the odds. Many have said Canada isn't big enough for two national papers. Black says he's confident the paper will stop losing money within a year.
