Swiss plane crashes off coast of Nova Scotia

A Swiss jetliner crashed Wednesday night off the coast of Nova Scotia. It was attempting to make an emergency landing in Halifax with one of its engines on fire.
The plane disappeared from radar at 10:30 p.m. Atlantic Time, seven nautical miles off Peggy's Cove. Rescue crews are on the scene.
It was an MD-11 plane flying from Zurich to New York.
Rescue officials say the plane had 227 passengers and a crew of 14.
